AccessIT Plus is the successor of AccessIT project, which succeeded in developing online educational courses, made for the employees of heritage institutions (libraries, museums, galleries, archives) in Greece, Serbia and Turkey. AccessIT Plus widened the aforementioned project as to include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. We participated in the project as the only Croatian partner. The project was financed by the Culture 2007-2013 program.
AccessIT and AccessIT Plus projects prompted cultural heritage institutions to act in digital surroundings using two online courses for acquiring necessary skills so librarians, curators and archivists would be able to digitize chosen items from their collections and make them accessible to Europeana and other online services.
As the project evolved, a pilot digital library was started and the key group of people were educated with the goal to create the base for digital competence centers yet to be established in all the countries involved.
